The former residence of the princes of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt is dominated by the pale silhouette of Heidecksburg Palace, built from 1737. It is possible to visit a number of the rooms decorated in the Rococo style (the Festsaal in the west wing is one of the finest Rococo rooms in the whole of Thuringia).
