The tower of the town hall looms 52m tall over Rynek Wielki, the great market square, which is reminiscent of an Italian piazza. The town hall, with its unusual pink colour, is not centred on the square but is integrated into the rest of the architecture. It seems that this is the way Jan Zamoyski found to avoid any shade on his own palace! Climb up the stairs of the town hall to see at a glance the entire structure of the square and its remarkable geometrical uniformity.
