This museum presents a fine collection of contemporary and modern art as well as pieces from the Prado. The core of the holdings is 19C painting and sculpture by the likes of Alsina, Rusiñol, Casas and Fortuny. But you will also discover some curious examples of Filipino art, a collection of Egyptian art, canvases by prominent Catalan artists from the 1950s and 1960s and some 16C-17C works (El Greco, Murillo, Carducho). The library abounds with 40 000 varied works from the 19C.
