Three wooden buildings painted white stand on the banks of the Bäveån, at the mouth of the Byfjorden fjord. The museum's photo exhibits retrace the history of Bohuslän. Through a series of paintings it also highlights the natural environment of the province as well as the lives of its fishermen, farmers and labourers - particularly quarrymen - over the centuries. The museum's restaurant serves some of the region's specialities.
