The tracery of the vaults of this Gothic building were rebuilt in the 15C and it now serves as a pantheon for the famous people of Trujillo. The «coro alto» (upper choir) has the two stone thrones from which the Catholic Monarchs took part in services. The 24 panels of the Gothic altarpiece decorating the high altar are attributed to Fernando Gallego. From the top of the steeple, there is a beautiful view of the brown rooftops, the colonnades of the Plaza Mayor and the castle.
