The Canal de Garonne is 193km long and runs from the Canal du Midi in Toulouse to Castets-en-Dorthe, where it flows into the River Garonne and on towards the Atlantic. It crosses the picturesque region of Frontonnois and Lomagne, full of vineyards and orchards, and can be explored by boat, but also on foot or by bike, thanks to the "green way" which runs along the canal. The path is dotted with locks and pretty villages whose orange brick provides an attractive contrast with the greenery of the region's plains and forests.
