Begun in the 13C with a Mudejar tower, Santa María de Mediavilla Cathedral was extended in the 16C. The late 13C-early 14C artesonado ceiling has been preserved. In the left transept is a 15C altarpiece of the Coronation of the Virgin. The altarpiece of the main altar was sculpted in the 16C by Gabriel Joly.
