The best view of the harbour is from the panoramic rooftop terrace of the Espadon submarine-museum. Felice Varini and his Suites de triangles conjure up an intriguing visual effect. The view extends to the docks of St-Nazaire and Penhoët (among the biggest in Europe at 22ha/54 acres). A second terrace has been built on the opposite wharf on the rooftop of the submarine base, designed by Gilles Clément.
