An ancient lime tree, planted in 1438, stands in the heart of the historic village of Samoëns. A fountain with bronze spouts in the form of faces adorns the centre of the square. Other landmarks include the Château de la Tour and its high, pointed slate roof, a church in front of which is an unusual War Memorial and La Grenette, a handsome 16C hall (restored in the 18C).
