A charming flight of steps leads to this bastion which lies on the southern side of the Kapuzinerberg. From here, there are fine views of the old town, which, as in a fairy tale, spikes the horizon with its domes and bell towers, between the river and fortress. The view is best enjoyed in the early morning, when the low-angled sunlight lights up the green copper-clad roofs and sculpted forms of the great monuments.
