Campo Santo or St Jean cloister-cemetery

Religieus monument
De beoordeling van de Michelin Gids
In the early 14C, the square cloister of Campo Santo was a cemetery and its four galleries were roofed over. Three sides are lined by funereal recesses, set into pebble stone and brick walls. They were burial places for rich families (notice the coats of arms engraved in stone). In the central part, an ossuary was the resting place for the less fortunate. It is one of the rare medieval cemeteries to remain in France.
