The National Maritime Museum is one of the largest of its kind although only a small part of its collections are on display to the public. These exhibits illustrate the importance of the sea in the history and mentality of Great Britain, providing information on explorers and travellers, the port of London, triangular trade, and Britain's maritime history since the late 17C.
