Nestled amid a swathe of olive trees, this enchanting Benedictine abbey is a masterpiece of Romanesque art founded by Bohémond de Hauteville (1054-1111). A portico with historiated capitals flanks the left side of the church, which has preserved some of the frescoes that once decorated it in its entirety. Some (including the splendid Annunciation) have been moved to the Casa del Massaro.
