The former palace of the island's first governors, where Christopher Columbus stayed in 1502, brings to life the Columbian era. In a characteristic Canarian setting, beneath the fine coffered ceilings of the rooms, cards and navigation instruments hark back to Columbus's expeditions. The upper floor presents models of the island and the town before the Conquista, and a collection of 16C-19C paintings.
