This road is named after the Napoleonic general Marmont, who undertook its construction along with that of many others in Dalmatia. It is the most spectacular and unspoilt on the island, winding its way through vineyards, olive groves and dense pine forests. It leads to an area formerly given over to forestry. There are splendid panoramic views from the foot of the island's highest peaks (over 500m). A fork in the road leads down to the beach of Pupnatska Luka, the most beautiful on Korcula.
