Hjalmar Lundbohm, whose final resting place is here, asked Gustaf Wickman to "design a church in the shape of a Sami tent" and that's what he did. Three years later, this magnificent red timber church was completed, the slopes of its roof decorated with gilt bronze statues. Separate from the main building, the onion dome is reinforced by 12 shoring timbers. Inside, the walls are dark to echo the interior of a Saami tent, and there is an altarpiece by Prince Eugene, in which paradise takes on the appearance of a Tuscan landscape.
