The two lakes of Llanganuco lagoon, in the heart of the Cordillera Blanca, are among the most spectacular natural sights of the Callejón de Huaylas. Chinancocha is much bigger and deeper than Orconcocha, which is 5m higher. Deeply wedged in between the Huascarán and Huandoy, whose glaciers can be seen to the right and left, both lakes are stunningly beautiful and their emerald colour changes hue as the sun moves overhead.
