Inaugurated in 2008, the contemporary Charles de Gaulle Memorial edifice offers an insight into the General's life and work and to 20C history. The admirable scenography immerses visitors in some of this period's most important historical events, thanks to painstakingly showcased documents. Each room has its own ambience and two hours barely suffice to do justice to this rich collection. Above the memorial is a huge Lorraine Cross (1972) (44.30m high).
