One of the town's icons, this elegant pier offers numerous amusements, bars and restaurants. To the west, King's Road runs alongside the pebble beach and its seaside attractions. In contrast, the white façades of the Grand Hotel and the Hotel Metropole recall the splendour of the Victorian period. Also of interest are the i360, a round, transparent lift which slowly ascends a 138m-high mast, and the distinguished group of buildings around Brunswick Square (1825-27).
