The Five Flower Lake, like the riverbed of the Peacock River situated at the northern tip, is the most colourful body of water in Jiuzhaigou Park. With a 9ha surface area and depth of up to 5m, it takes on wonderful hues, from dark green to sapphire blue and golden yellow. At the end of autumn and the start of winter, the russet and golden tones of the surrounding trees' foliage compound the magic of the site and bear out the adage "Jiuzhaigou, a photographer's dream, a painter's nightmare".
