To reach the oldest part of the historic town, go through the Zytturm (Clock Tower), whose roof is painted in the colours of Zug (blue and white). The historic town is crossed by the Unter-Altstadt and the Ober-Altstadt. The district boasts lovely old, steeply gabled houses and pretty refreshing fountains, all of which combine to reinforce the district's medieval flavour.
