This small Buddhist temple suddenly pops up after a turn through the dense forest. The beautiful temple was built on stilts, inside a natural cave nestled against the mountain side. If you stand on the terrace with your back to the Fudo Myo-o statue (guardian of Buddhist law) inside, you will enjoy a magnificent view of the deep valley and of the mountain stream flowing down Yoshikawa River. Beware: the stairs are steep and hazardous!
