This neighbourhood received a bad press for a long time on account of its nightlife with close ties to the American military base stationed here after the Second World War. The street Gaien Higashi-dori illustrates this. But for a short while now, Roppongi has radically changed and become a must-see, thanks to the construction of spectactular skyscrapers and remarkable museums. An environment familiar for Westerners and vaguely exotic for the Japanese.
