A path leads to the site of the vestiges of the ancient fort of La Popie and the highest spot on the cliff. From this rock, formerly the site of the fort's keep, there is a fine view of the village of St Cirq and its church clinging to the cliff side. Further down lies the Lot valley with its chequered fields of crops, dominated by the Gramat limestone plateau.
