Skobelev Park was the scene of intensive fighting during the struggle for Bulgaria's liberation. The monumental building known as Panorama, inaugurated in 1977, stands next to the communal grave where the victims of the battle of Pleven were buried. It houses an exhibition entitled "Heroic tale of Pleven 1877", which pays tribute to the Russian and Romanian liberators of the town. The paintings and exhibits, which clearly explain the fighting conditions will, without any doubt, be of interest to military-history buffs.
