To the south of Padandbai, Pantai Kecil (literally "Little Beach") has met a sad fate. The hill was flattened to make way for a Korean hotel that will probably never be finished. The governor of Bali has put a stop to the works for reasons of environmental protection, but the worst has been done. The white sandy beach and turquoise water remain, however, and are beautiful all the same (beware of the currents!).
