Built above the Cave of Tidal Sound, this temple, the oldest on the island, recalls on its bas-reliefs the legend of the statue of Guanyin refusing to be taken from the shores of Putuoshan. This beautiful rocky site is battered by the waves and swept by winds off the sea. The temple houses a jade copy of the original statue, seated and wearing a veil.
