Bordered by a branch of the Bega canal, the museum comprises around twenty buildings in wood, stone and plaster, representative of the Banat region's different ethnic groups. Among the most remarkable of these original buildings re-erected on this site from 1972 onwards is the wood church from Topla (near Lugoj) dating from 1746.
