Italian architect Giovanni Battista Trevano and stucco specialist Giovanni Battista Falconi are responsible for this majestic Baroque synagogue, built between 1638 and 1644 for the wealthy merchant Izaak Jakubowicz. The external staircase allowed women to access the gallery separately. Klezmer music concerts are held here on a regular basis.
