Dedicated in 1902, the 86m-high obelisk of the Indiana Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument forms the centre of the circle. The limestone shaft that commemorates veterans of the Civil War, is surrounded by terraces and fountains and has a statue of Victory on top. From the top floor there is a panoramic view over the city and surrounding area.
