Installed in a typical arcaded building, this remarkable museum presents traditional life in Apokoronas, through a reconstruction of an early-20C interior, introduction to Crete's revolts (lithographs, weapons) and presentation of local crafts (pottery, stone sculpture, icons). You will learn how the women here made a name for themselves with their kapaneli: this embroidery technique using silk was exclusively for making women's wedding attire and decorative tablecloths.
