The summit of Monte Toro (358m/1,263ft), on which the Mare de Déu del Toro (patron saint of Minorca) shrine stands, commands a view which embraces the entire island on a fine day. To the north the jagged bay of Fornells and to the south the chalk cliffs which make the coastline so straight and finally Maó to the southeast are all visible.
