Fort Queyras may well look familiar to some, because it provided the setting chosen by Philippe de Broca to shoot his film On Guard. After crossing the drawbridge, you enter an inextricable maze of passages, stairs, casemates and bastions, whose construction and subsequent alterations extended into the 19C: the entire structure is as complex as the building's history is tumultuous. But don't worry, follow the signposted route and you'll find your way around easily enough.
