For swimming in Cancún, you have to head to the south of the peninsula, as the north was damaged by Cyclone Wilma. You can check out the popular Playa Tortugas, and seek refuge in the rocks to the south of the beach, but the best option is to go further south, to Playa Delfines. Overlooked by the hill of El Rey, it offers a lovely panoramic view from the boulevard, especially at sunset.
