The large St John the Baptist Church, its tall spire rising gracefully above the water meadows, is Norman in origin. The building has a wide variety of features dating from different periods. The pinnacled three-storey porch from the 15C is outstanding. Inside, there is a memorial to Edward Harman, whose tomb is decorated with the first depiction of American Indians in England.
